Belgium take on Wales in the UEFA Nations League 2022-23 on matchday 5 at the Stade Roi Baudouin in Brussels on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 12:15 AM IST.

The Belgian national team eked out a 1-0 victory against Poland in the UEFA Nations League on matchday 4 after Michy Batshuayi gave Belgium an early lead in the first half. Meanwhile, Wales ended on the wrong side of the scoreline in a five-goal thriller against the Netherlands. The Welsh national team equalized the game to make it 2-2 in second-half stoppage time, but the Dutch scored again in the 93rd minute to win 3-2.

Belgium are unbeaten in their last three matches against Wales, following back-to-back draws last season, and will once again have a higher win probability. Both teams have beaten each other twice in the eight games played against each other.

Wales have been highly competitive in the UEFA Nations League but have lacked the X-factor in critical moments to convert their chances into wins. Belgium have recovered well, winning two out of three games after a disappointing defeat on matchday 1 against the Netherlands while conceding four goals.

Gareth Bale and Brennan Johnson showcased their ability to get in behind the opposition defenders through quick and direct passing to score goals in Wales’ previous game in the competition. While Belgium have been efficient going forward, they have struggled to contain the opposition on defensive transitions, letting in 1.5 goals per game in this competition. The Welsh forwards will capitalize on the lack of pace in the Belgian defence to challenge the goalkeeper, as they did in the recent 1-1 draw in June 2022.

Place your bets on Wales to take a step forward and beat Belgium on matchday 5.
